Wedding arches are not a necessary part of a wedding ceremony, but they can add an air of grandeur and sanctity to an open air wedding, as well as providing your guests with some focus for the whole event.

 If you are getting married overseas or at a resort, you may find that you will have to pay an additional sum for your arch, so it is always a good idea to go prepared to turn a couple of bamboo sticks into a romantic arbour with some clever wedding arch decoration.

With the setting of a formal wedding ceremony, you can plan some more formal wedding arch decorations, such as a few ribbons decorating a pre-existing wedding arch.

An outdoor wedding might inspire you to decorate your arch with flowers and branches.

Ivy is especially good for wedding arch decorations, as it is a natural ribbon; roses are not so good, as the larger stems tend to be inflexible, not to mention thorny.

If you want to have roses as part of your wedding arch decoration, then you need to cut the stems fairly short, and place them in amid bunches of more flexible flowers.

A more informal wedding offers a different range of exciting wedding arch decorations. As well as formal decoration, you can include balloons.

You may even wish to make your entire arch out of balloons, though make sure it is stuck firmly to the ground.
