 Beach Wedding Decoration

If you are planning a beach wedding, with the romance of crashing waves and white sands, then you will need to consider the decorations very carefully.

Beach wedding decoration choices can depend upon your wedding venue; either a formal wedding in a cabana, or an informal wedding on the beach itself.

Your beach wedding decoration should reflect this difference.

In the case of a formal beach wedding, decoration should reflect the romance and passion of the big rolling waves and ebbing tides.

When planning your formal decorations, practice restraint.

One shell at the corner of an invitation will evoke the beach, but using them to frame the entire invitation will seem tacky and naïve.

This method also applies to your floral decorations: pearls and shells with your flowers can emphasise the location, and you can even try a sand sculpture as a centrepiece.

Try to find a way of using the beach wedding decoration as an accessory, rather than the main attraction: and don't forget that lobster makes an attractive first course when you plan you reception.

If you are planning an informal, on-the-beach wedding, then your beach wedding decoration can reflect this more relaxed state of affairs.

If you want, you can have a huge sandcastle as your centrepiece, and your guests can hear you say your vows on deck chairs or even beach towels!

Nearby shops will probably stock plastic buckets and spades, and plastic shells and sea creatures; playful things evoke memories of enjoyment and fun.

You can probably find some hair grips with shells on them to add to your veil, and an invitation in the shape of a fish or a shell can make your theme clear to everyone. If you want to, as well as your beach wedding decorations, you can add Belgian chocolate shells to your cake, or pass them around after the reception.
