 Christmas Jokes and Stories

When we think of Christmas, we think of gift giving, families coming together, brightly decorated Christmas trees and the Nativity; and then we think of the fun that accompanies all the Christmas traditions.

Who has not heard the timeless lyrics to the well-loved Christmas song, “Grandma got run over by a reindeer?”

There is a whimsical side to Christmas, which relieves the very human tendency to find humor in virtually everything.

Christmas stories such as “The Night Before Christmas” have been parodied numerous times into humorous situations including “The Cajun Night Before Christmas” as well as many others.

Christmas stories that have become classic Christmas traditions include the timeless “Charlie Brown Christmas” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and they have been repeated over and over from year to year.

Kids love telling the Christmas jokes and riddles such as Q. What do elves learn in school? A.  The elf-abet.  Others include:

  1. What is the difference between the Christmas alphabet and the regular alphabet?
  2. The Christmas alphabet has no L (noel)
  1. What Christmas carol is a favorite of parents?
  2. Silent Night
  1. Why does Santa have three gardens?
  2. So he can hoe hoe hoe!
  1. What do snowmen eat for breakfast?
  2. Frosted flakes
  1. What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire?
  2. Frostbite
  1. What did the ghost say to Santa?
  2. I’ll have a boo Christmas without you

OK, some may be a little corny, but these jokes, as well as the funny Christmas songs and Christmas stories, are Christmas traditions for many families.  Nevertheless, no matter how your family celebrates Christmas on the humorous side, you can rest assured that Christmas and humor will forever live on as part of our Christmas traditions.
