The Christmas an Experience

The Christmas experience is enjoyed by children of all ages. Rich Christmas traditions are passed down through families as they decorate Christmas trees, give gifts, tell the Christmas story have a Christmas feast.

The Santa Clause story may be recounted in poems like The Night Before Christmas and Christmas songs such as Here Comes Santa Clause. However it is celebrated, Christmas is a special time for families and traditions.

Throughout the Christmas season families get together to celebrate the season and their faith. Churches put on pageants that tell the Christmas story and parents haul little ones into crowded department stores so that they can clamor onto Santa's lap.

People give gifts and carolers go from house to house spreading the Christmas cheer. There are decorations such as wreaths and outside lights. People make Christmas shopping a regular event. Many Christmas traditions involve reading the Christmas story on Christmas eve or going to midnight mass.

Entire communities will come together to celebrate the season. Natchitoches, Louisiana celebrated the Christmas season with its Lights Festival. The entire town participates in this month long event.

There are beautiful lights and Christmas music as well as great food and kinship. People come from all over the country to participate and to enjoy the lights and festivities.

The Santa Clause story is one that is loved by young and old alike. There are numerous versions but the basic premise is always the same: a jolly little man brings toys to all the good children of the world.

He goes by the names Santa Clause, St. Nick, Kris Kringle and others. But no matter what he is called, he is a true representation of the spirit of Christmas.

The giving spirit that Christmas evokes often inspires people to give to those less fortunate. A very popular Christmas tradition is for families to give to the food banks and other charities so that others who may not be able to give gifts or have a Christmas dinner can enjoy the fun of Christmas.

Toys, food and other items are donated to organizations such as the Salvation Army as well as various churches and then distributed to the families or individuals. This is a large part of many families’ Christmas plans. After all, the true spirit of Christmas is giving.
