Christmas FestivalsThe Christmas
festival, or the Mass of Christ, is the Christmas celebration
of the nativity, the birth of Jesus. This celebration
has long been a Christmas tradition among Christians.
It
is believed that Christ was born on December 25, although
there is not solid documentation to support that theory.
The pagans have long celebrated the winter
solstice which falls during this time and the traditional
celebration of Christmas has evolved from that event.
This
predominantly Christian celebration that has its roots in
pagan culture has borrowed some traditions from its pagan
counterpart including gift giving, celebrations and feasts,
decorations and the Yule log.The Christmas festival is celebrated all over the
world in one form or another. |
