 Grand eCards

For so long, sentiments have been tangibly expressed on two-grand cards purchased at trusty card shops.Quite predictably, the advent of the Internet substantially shifted these gears, ushering in a generation of virtual greeting cards.

Though they are yet to completely replace the relatively more luxurious cards and lavish cards of convention, virtual greeting cards seem to have accomplished what paper has not.

In comparison, the conventional ones are nevertheless the more Majestic Cards, what with designer frills unthinkable for a virtual format.

The main draw to the bustling traffic of this form of impressive greeting cards seem to be the inexpensiveness of the idea, if adeptness at technology is not an issue at all. E-mail usually accommodates the sending and reception of these virtual cards, which are recognized in technology parlance as e-cards.

Not unlike any card haven offering more and more tailor-made choices, the Internet is rife with pre-written card styles with images and messages. From a slew of choices, the prospective sender has a choice in New Year eGreetings or New Year Grand Cards, plus Grand party cards, Miss You Greetings, Party cards and Love e-cards.

This latest mutation of the long-standing greeting card is every way the Internet's answer to the conventional greeting card, in which the sender can add his or her own personal message as one would a paper card. When the recipient the email, he or she usually does not find the card itself, but only a link to the card hosted as a website.

Such a link would go to the e-card as a webpage, displaying the sender's personal message and card, lest attachments be arranged as in other virtual card providers. Presently, there are five common types of e-Cards, all for visual consumption. Many e-cards make extensive use of Macromedia's Flash software, resulting in Flash-enabled animation in cards.

Still there are cards that do not use such but are enabled with animation, with some minor repetitive movement. In contrast, the Postcards use static images. On the other hand, JavaScript cards often combine Postcard images with some kind of JavaScript-enabled animation, and most recently with sounds.
