 First Birthday Decoration

In a year, that fledgling being can sit, crawl, and maybe even walk. There's simply no telling if the newly sired one wants to party just like the grown-ups.

Sooner or later mum is bound to pop that cork, whether or not the tiny tot has the attention span of a party animal.

Birthday party decorations inevitably come at their best when unified under one theme. Themes are often a great way to plan a first birthday decoration, as well as the invitations and food.

Though not as complex as the grownups’, the themes for first birthday parties can be as fun as any other, unless inappropriate antics are introduced.

For all the grandiose aims of a theme, it is important that activities or games should be kept to a minimum length. One must also keep in mind that the guest of honor can have a meltdown two hours into a party.

In any case, one suggested homemade birthday decoration theme is Firefighter. Babies seem to love a big red noisy fire truck.

As a theme party decoration, party favors may be red plastic firefighter hats, available at most party stores. A theme more appealing to a wide age range is that of superheroes though.

At least for a first birthday party, there must be no party balloon decoration. Though they adore birthday balloon decorations, babies run the risk of choking hazard with these. If one must, helium balloons must have their ribbons removed so they are inaccessible to even the best jumper in the group.

But it is always a great outdoor party decoration to tie balloons at the mailbox or any point outside the venue as a beacon of sorts to guests. Whatever the case may be, the number of guests must not overwhelm the guest of honor. It is a best bet to invite only close friends and family or limit the guest list to ten.
